Hon. Betty Amongi, Minister of Gender, Labor, and Social Development, champions the Generating Growth Opportunities for Women (GROW) initiative, a collaborative effort between the government, the World Bank, and NUWEBIZ. Under the dynamic leadership of Okello Sharon Nagenjwa, this program is revolutionizing economic empowerment in Northern Uganda's refugee districts.

GROW offers tailored training in tailoring, hairdressing, soap making, and baking to 300 women from districts like Lamwo, Arua, and Adjumani. These skills not only enhance product quality but also open doors to broader market opportunities, enabling women to break free from economic constraints and become self-sufficient contributors to their communities. Beyond skill acquisition, GROW embodies a vision of holistic community development. By investing in women's empowerment, the Ministry of Gender, Labor, and Social Development, in partnership with NUWEBIZ, is sowing the seeds of sustainable progress and resilience in refugee settlements.

Hon. Betty Amongi emphasizes the significance of public-private partnerships in driving inclusive growth and fostering an environment where women can thrive. Together, we are not just transforming livelihoods; we are shaping a future where every woman in Northern Uganda can realize her full potential, driving positive change for generations to come.
